I love GOOD decorated sugar cookies. Please don’t ever buy me one of those stale, pre-packaged kind they sell at the checkstand that’s been hermetically sealed for a year–or so. They will go straight into the trash. Or used as a frisbee.
Football? Not so much. I am a basketball and baseball afficcionado. The main reason I never got into football–it’s cold. If I have to sit outside and bring every coat and blanket that I own and my own hot chocolate to watch the game… well… no thank you.
BUT–I love food! And Super Bowl Sunday means lots of it! So, I am cooking up a storm today and taking my goods to my son’s house so I can watch everyone else watch the game–and I can eat. We are also celebrating my daughter-in-law’s birthday, so it’s a 2 for 1.
I learned how to make these cookies at The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle. She made me like eating decorated sugar cookies. I will never make enough to be as precise as she is, but I have been known to impress people with my cookies, nonetheless. In order to make these, I first printed out the team logos the size I wanted the cookie to be and then cut them out with a knife. I used one of those ridged instruments they sell at Halloween to carve pumpkins, but a paring knife will also work. To learn how to decorate them, check out Sugarbelle’s blog. You will be amazed.
Enjoy the game everyone! May the best team win!
